Dipsy is the brother of the retriever we described earlier. This black puppy is currently living and studying with Deimantė Dargytė, a trainer at the Assistance Dog Centre in Klaipėda. Dipsy is learning general obedience and is being intensively socialised to feel comfortable in different environments and situations. Socialisation is one of the most important parts of the training process for assistance dogs. Dipsy can be suitable for someone with psychological problems as well as a physical disability, and can be trained to tell a person about an impending seizure or a critical change in blood sugar levels or similar. Once a person has been selected to receive a Dipsy, they will be trained in specific tasks.
So far, Dipsy does not yet have a person he can be a good assistant to, so he spends most of his time with his trainer. So if you know of a dog that would need one, please contact us.
